Mountain Holidays – Alpine Retreat

We invite you to share the Best of Both Worlds at Gîte Le Lauvitel : All the outdoor activities that the Ecrins National Park in the French Alps has to offer (including superb skiing & snow boarding at Les Deux Alpes, Alpe D’Huez and La Grave-La Meije) with a difference…
… after each foray into the mountains or out on the pistes, come back and relax in a real haven of tranquility…

Accommodation

Gîte Le Lauvitel is situated in the hamlet of La Danchère, a beautiful location combining a peaceful atmosphere with ease of access to two of the largest French ski resorts.
It is 8 minutes drive from Venosc and the
Les 2 Alpes
lift system at the entrance to the Véneon valley. Only one hour from Grenoble, you step out of the Gîte into the largest National Park in France.

Welcome to this rustic old farmhouse, which is divided into three chalet apartments and sleeps up to 40 people. We provide traditional French cooking and simple but comfortable accommodation and a warm welcome.
Caroline and Chuck who recently acquired the Gîte are passionate about the mountains and very much look forward to sharing our enthusiasm with you.

Lots of local activities including bungee jumping Enjoying a lunch break Family trekking

Activities

Only as the seasons unfold can one fully appreciate the beauty of this place and the enormous range of things to do… … Downhill or off-piste skiing and snow-boarding in Winter and ski touring in the early Spring.
Then the snow melts and the Alpine flowers turn the meadows into a demi-paradise in which to practice Tai Chi Ch’uan or Reiki.

In July the Tour de France brings road and mountain biking enthusiasts alike (Alpe D’Huez, Col du Galibier, King of the Mountains…) and the Summer heralds river rafting, canoeing, fishing, paragliding, alpine routes, rock climbing, and mountain walking...
The contrasting colours of Autumn are magnificent, and as the days draw in, its an ideal time and place for reflection – whether it be for business or coaching workshops, team building sessions or for meditation groups.

"These stolen days stand out because the experience they give is heightened by the transition from everyday life. No matter how fleeting the opportunity, we are refreshed by the hills." Charles Evans
